When I was a kid, I wanted to be an archeologist. In reality, I just wanted to be Indiana Jones. When I learned that real archeologists very rarely carried whips and guns, I stopped wanting to be an archeologist.
Eventually, I decided I wanted to be a pastor. In reality, I just wanted to convince God that I really was worth loving. When I learned that isn’t how God works, I didn’t believe it. I’m only now beginning to understand it.
After spending my entire life in the Church, a decade in professional youth ministry, and more time than I care to realize battling all manner of fears & resentments I have come to realize that there are a whole lot of people who feel alone and aimless. For years I was one of them.
My mission is to help individuals experience transformation by fostering the renovation of the local church.
I am convinced, now more than ever, that the local community of faithful individuals known as the church is the single greatest hope for our world today. I’ve also discovered that when Jesus said that he came to bring people abundant life, he actually meant it. Now more than ever I experience that for myself on a (mostly) daily basis.
In my work, I draw on my deep well of experience of failure & success, sorrow & joy, addiction & healing. I believe the beautiful Goodness of God is communicated through the stories of those people who dare to call God a friend. All I have to offer is my story, the hope of my experience.
